...and the ever brilliant Google Maps - so that you can deflect people from where you actually live...
but if you are on this page you probably already know me or have a pretty good idea how to...
ARTISTICALLY
eye level
I love street art - in truth I like a lot of art - it's why I love my work - it's never finished and I like the idea that it never will be - finished art work is a misnomer
"The chief enemy of creativity is 'good' sense'." – Pablo Picasso

"You see things; and you say, 'Why?' But I dream things that never were; and I say, 'Why not'?" – George Bernard Shaw

"Creativity is the power to connect the seemingly unconnected." – William Plomer

"Making the simple complicated is commonplace; making the complicated simple, awesomely simple, that's creativity."– Charles Mingus

"Creativity is contagious. Pass it on."– Albert Einstein

I'm a creative person.

That means what I do is impossible to define. Whether an idea, a turn of phrase, a photograph, a sketch or a 100 feet wall covered in a may of a complex system it's how I think and what drives me.

I've observed the power and magic of being able to translate intangible ideas and seemingly unconnected things into a complete picture and a coherent story. Visually. Fast. I've seen it change people's minds and alter their behaviours. That's an incredible thought.

By using visualisation and related techniques we add real value to how we all think and work. I'm now applying everything I've learned about this to making a difference.

For the last 20 years we've been developing a collaborative, visual and facilitative approach to the challenges and opportunities of the enterprise, and society.

We've now built a unique set of tools and techniques. We've helped all shapes and sizes of client across pretty much every kind of challenge and we've done it in many corners of the world.

Before Group Partners I ran my own businesses in the Design, Media and Marketing industries - I finally sold that business to WPP Group plc.

Before that I worked in the field of emerging technology and computing in Cambridge and helped launch the BBC Microcomputer which led to the formation of ARM - the chip development business - now one of the UK's most successful businesses. Cambridge is where I also studied Fine Art and spent my mysterious and surrealistic youth. I think.

I can't remember much before that!

The iPad Pro
What a brilliant piece of technology and armed with the Apple pencil I am practicing in every spare second I have...

...using the iPad to create was a fascination for me - I knew it was likely to be a powerful drawing tool but initially I couldn't get comfortable with the way it worked - whether it was lack of friction or the latency I don't know - probably both.

I approached the Apple Pencil with a bit of trepidation as a result. And it's still early days but no such problem with the tool.

It's simply liberating.

...this series of images are created around the topic of perspective and stance. Each of them explored context and the good and evil that goes with that.

Context is a concept that goes right to the core of our work. Anyway visualising context is what all artists do and how creative folk think - I think
..I'm a novice but as I get further I lose the sense of restriction - early on in my life I helped friends start what was to become the computer industry in the UK

I learned a phrase that resonated with me then and I see present in people to this day - 'technofear' - the idea that you can break stuff. In many cases you can but that shouldn't stop you messing about like a kid - how far you can go before you get told off by a parent?

Look around and see who's telling you not to do things and then change that. The iPad Pro and Apple Pencil will suddenly start working a whole lot better.
